We carried on our A-Z of Derbyshire by heading over to one of our favourite edges - Gardom’s Edge - which is located just above the village of Baslow.
The beasties just love exploring the rocky outcrop and surrounding woodland, as well as sniffing a path through the ferns.
The moorland between Gardom’s and nearby Birchen Edge is now used for grazing sheep but during the Bronze Age you would have found habitats and arable farming in the area… “investigated features include a Neolithic rubble-built enclosure bank, Bronze to Iron Age cairnfields and settlements and cup-and-ring rock art.”
