We've walked it so many times we've lost count but, with this fantastic trail starting practically on our doorstep it's always a joy.
The High Peak trail runs 17 miles from Dowlow near Buxton to High Peak Junction near Cromford and follows the old track bed of the Cromford and High Peak Railway.
From High Peak Junction heading west there are nine inclines and our route from High Peak to Middleton Top (where the Pennine Bridleway begins) takes in two and climbs over 800 feet and passes the gritstone outcrop of Black Rocks.
