Our Derbyshire A to Z

D is for Dovedale

Yesterday's late summer warmth saw us head out on another A-Z excursion and this time we found ourselves popping over to the incredibly popular Dovedale.

A popular tourist destination since the 18th century, this limestone valley has many incredible features but is widely known for its stepping stones that cross the River Dove.

We headed swiftly past the day trippers (sadly many disposable barbecues in use) and climbed out of the valley in search of Ethels!

We strolled to the top of Tissington Hill before looping around to Thorpe Cloud.
