Our Derbyshire A to Z

B is for Baslow Edge

Next up in our A-Z of favourite places is the brilliant Baslow Edge.

Sitting high above the village of Baslow, the edge is one of nine edges running from Derwent Edge near Ladybower down to Birchen Edge just east of Chatsworth House.

The edge is home to stunning highland cows that roam amongst the rocky heather plateau which commands views across the Hope Valley including the Chatsworth Estate, nearby Curbar Edge and, on a clear day, Kinder plateau.

The edge also features a monument commemorating the Duke of Wellington's victory at Waterloo in 1815 as well as the enormous Eagle Stone.

Just a short drive from home, Rodney and Rufus are regulars, enjoying rocky strolls around Baslow, Curbar and Froggat Edges.
