Our Derbyshire A to Z

Q is for Quarndon

Yesterday we headed out early, with temperatures still under 20°, for a beautiful loop walk from/to Allestree Park via the picturesque village of Quarndon.

The village found fame in the 17th and 18th century as a spa thanks to the reputed properties of its chalybeate well (now housed in a castellated well house).

We took advantage of all the shade en route, had plenty of water, and took multiple breaks to ensure canines and humans weren't too hot!
